Denver sedation dentist Dr. Grabiak offers three different types of sedation dentistry:
• IV Sedation
• Oral Conscious Sedation
• Nitrous Oxide Sedation
IV Sedation
With IV Sedation, medications are administered directly into the blood stream. IV Sedation induces a state of deep relaxation and a feeling of not being bothered by what is going on. Many times Denver patients who undergo IV Sedation recall little or perhaps nothing at all of what happened.
Oral Conscious Sedation
If OCS is right for you, Denver sedation dentistry specialist Dr. Grabiak will prescribe the appropriate medication in a pill form that you will take in his office before your treatment. Most oral sedation dentistry patients in Denver nap through their dental office visit and leave feeling relaxed, healthy, and well cared for.
Nitrous Oxide Sedation
Nitrous Oxide Sedation involves conscious inhalation sedation, nitrous oxide gas (also known as laughing gas) used to induce a state of relaxation. A local anesthetic will be administered in combination with nitrous oxide sedation to eliminate pain. Denver patients who undergo nitrous oxide sedation dentistry often fall asleep and experience some degree of amnesia about what happened during their appointment in our Denver office.
During your visit Denver dentist, Dr. Grabiak and his sleep dentistry team make sure you are relaxed and resting comfortably. During sedation dentistry treatment, your blood pressure, oxygen intake and heart rate are monitored regularly. Upon completion of your treatment we stay with you until you are ready to go home with your companion. A companion will need to drive you to and from your visit and be available after your appointment to our Denver dental office to help you rest.
